Lisa is a transactional attorney who brings over 20 years of experience representing clients in venture capital transactions. Prior to her role with Piva, Lisa was General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Energy Technology Ventures, a joint venture among General Electric, NRG Energy and ConocoPhillips, investing in the development of next-generation energy technologies. She also served as outside counsel for the GE Ventures Energy group. Previously, she was a partner at King & Spalding, an 800+ lawyer international law firm and General Counsel of Gray Ghost Ventures, an impact investment firm dedicated to providing market-based capital solutions to entrepreneurs who are addressing the needs of low-income communities in emerging markets.
Lisa takes a practical, efficient and effective approach to structuring, negotiating and executing transactions and views the deal process as an opportunity to build a foundation for a strong partnership between the investor and the portfolio company.
Lisa is the immediate past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia and now serves on its Emeritus Board, she has served as the Chair of the Board of Directors of AADD and is the Founder of CKS Serves, an organization that promotes family service in the community. She received her BBA, cum laude, in International Business from the University of Georgia and her JD, cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law.
